CAPITAL GRANTS

Action Ministries Rome– Funds will be used to repair and replace glass windows and make other repairs to building, $8000

Bethany UMC– Funds will go toward a Habitat build, $4000

Garden of Gethsemane Homeless Shelter, Funds will go toward the purchase of metal cabinets, beds, blinds, and commodes, $8000.

Habitat for Humanity – North Central Georgia (Cherokee) – building a Habitat home in Acworth, $5000.

Habitat for Humanity, Griffin– Funds will be used toward building a Habitat House in Griffin, $4000.

Habitat for Humanity, Catoosa County– Funds will be used toward building a Habitat House in Catoosa County, $4000.

Habitat for Humanity Greene County– Funds will be used toward building a Habitat House in Greene County, $4000.

Habitat for Humanity Hall County– Funds will be used toward building a Habitat house in Hall County, $4000.

Habitat for Humanity Southern Crescent– Funds will be used toward building a Habitat house in Fayetteville, $4000.

HOPE Through Divine Intervention– Funds will be used toward purchase of refrigerators for the permanent supportive housing units, $4000.

Interfaith Hospitality Network of Athens, Inc.- Funds will be used to purchase beds for family housing, $7900.

Metropolitan UMC– The funds will be used to purchase appliances (stove, warmer, commercial freezer, commercial refrigerator) and equipment to prepare meals for clients, $5200.

MUST Ministries, Marietta – Funds will be used toward replacing wooden lockers and old bed frames in Elizabeth Inn shelter, $7600.

Salvation Army Atlanta Metro Area Command – funds will allow Salvation Army to purchase a van for transport, $8000.

Shepherd’s Staff Ministries, Inc– Funds will be used to improve transitional houses, $8000.

 

OPERATIONAL GRANTS

Action Ministries Athens – day-to-day operating expenses of “Our Daily Bread” kitchen, $1300.

Action Ministries Atlanta – funds will support operating expenses of Women’s Community Kitchen, $1300.

Action Ministries Feed the Hungry -Funds will be used to purchase canned and dry packaged food items for inclusion in emergency hunger relief food boxes, $1300.

Action Ministries Housing – Funds will be used to support the Rapid-Rehousing program, $1300.

Action Ministries Mountain- Will support funds to offer short term rental assistance, $1300.

Augusta Urban Ministries– funds will be used to help provide bike parts and helmets, $1300.

Bascomb Mission Thrift– Funds will be used toward purchase of food for food pantry, $1300.

Bethlehem First UMC– Funds will be used toward purchasing supplemental food for food distribution ministry, $1300.

Brookhaven UMC – purchasing food, underwear, socks and toiletry items to distribute to needy persons, $1300

Clarkston UMC – purchasing food for church’s community food pantry, serving the needy, homeless, refugee, and immigrant population of Clarkston, $1300.

Faith UMC– purchasing supplemental food for Backpack Buddies program, $1300.

Family Promise of New Rock– Funds will be used toward operating expenses of transporting guests within the network, $1300.

Family Promise of North Fulton/DeKalb– Funds will be used toward operating expenses to continue to serve families experiencing homelessness, $1300.

Flat Shoals UMC, Decatur – purchasing food and hygeine items for community pantry, $1200.

Georgia Food and Resource Center– This grant will enhance the ability to provide nutritious food to those in need throughout the service area, $1300

Helping Hands Ending Hunger – Funds will be used to purchase food items from the Chattanooga Food Bank to give to children in the Trion City Schools and Chatooga County Schools, $1300.

Inside Ministry– Funds will be used to support staff salaries, $1300.

Intown Collaborative Ministries, Atlanta – Funds will support the operation of the food pantry, $1300.

Jerusalem House, Inc., Atlanta – Awarded funds will  defray general operating costs across all programs while during the expansion of the Scattered Site II Program by 200 units and finish launching New Horizons program, $1300.

Midtown Assistance Center, Atlanta – Funds will be used to purchase MARTA passes for individuals experiencing homelessness, $1300.

Mt. Zion UMC Atlanta – support for food pantry which provides sack lunches to the community every day, $1300.

New Covenant UMC-Funds will be used to purchase materials for River of Life Project, $1300.

Our House, Inc. Funds will be used for supplies for the Early Childhood Education program, $1300.

South Hall Community Food Pantry– Grant will be used to purchase food to serve over 400 families, $1300.

Southwest Ecumenical Emergency Assistance Ministry Center– funds will be used to provide porta-potties for families seeking service, $1300.

St. James UMC Augusta– Funds will be used to purchase food and toiletry items for those in the community who seek assistance at the church, $1300.

Stone Mountain Cooperative Ecumenical Ministry, Funds will help families remain in their homes after receiving past due notices on mortgage and rent, $1300.

Sweetwater Mission, Inc.., Austell – providing rent assistance for families in crisis to prevent homelessness, $1300.

Fall  Grant Cycle 2017

CAPITAL GRANTS

Abba House– grant will allow for installment of modular building, $3500

Ark Refuge Ministries– grant will go toward purchase of HVAC units for the facility, $3500

Breakthru House– grant will be used on repairs to the treatment facility, $3500

Essence of Hope, Inc.– The funds will be used to purchase washers/dryers, twin beds, and vacuums for the residents, $3500.

Habitat for Humanity, North Central Georgia– Funds will be used to supplement a Habitat House build in Forsyth County, $2000.

Habitat for Humanity, Gwinnett County– Funds will be used to supplement a Habitat House build in Gwinnett County, $2000.

Habitat for Humanity Coosa Valley– Funds will be used to supplement a Habitat build in the Rome/Floyd area, $2000.

Habitat for Humanity Towns/Union County– Funds will be used to supplement a Habitat build in Young Harris, GA. $2000.

Isaiah House– Funds will be used to complete the inside of the building expansion project, $3500.

McEachern Memorial UMC– Funds will go to support a Habitat for Humanity build.

Meals by Grace- Fill Ministries: funds will be used for the purchase of water pumps in the aquaponic greenhouse, $3250

MUST Ministries– Funds will be used to expand community room in permanent supportive housing units, $3250.

Newborn UMC: Disciples for Christ Ministry- funds will be used to purchase a refrigerator for the food ministry, $3000.

Rainbow Village: Funds will be used to purchase new computers for client services, $3000.

Sam Jones UMC: Funds will be used toward the purchase of a food truck for a food ministry, $3500.

Square Foot Ministry: Funds will be used toward construction of a single-family home in Griffin, $2000.

 

 

OPERATIONAL GRANTS

 

Action Ministries-Covington– Funds will be spent to provide Superpacks (food packs) which ensure healthy food for children living in poverty, $860.

Atlanta First UMC– The funds will be used to help fund restorative arts and crafts sessions and purchase hygiene products as we fulfill our mission to serve and engage Atlanta’s homeless population, $860.

Bridging the Gap– Funds will go toward the salary of the client services coordinator, $860.

Central UMC– Funds will be used to purchase food, toiletries, and personal hygiene items for those in need,$860.

Chatsworth First UMC– Funds will be used to provide children in need with sacks full of basic food items each Friday during the school year, $860

Colbert UMC (in the Middle Meals)- Funds will be used to purchase food for a weekend feeding program for middle and high school students in Madison County, $670.

Collins Memorial UMC– funds will go to the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables for the food ministry, $860.

Decatur-area Emergency Assistance Ministry-Funds will be used to purchase food from the Atlanta Food Bank to supply food to residents or homeless people living within DEAM’s service area, $860.

Elizabeth Lee UMC– Funds will be used to feed school children one afternoon a week as well as to send a few items of food home with them, $770.

Family Promise of Cobb County– Funds will assist in program operations, $860.

Family Promise of Gwinnett County– Funds will be used to provide hotel/motel vouchers for homeless families in order to keep them intact when the emergency shelter is full, $860.

Gateway House, Inc. Gateway will use the funds to provide safe and decent transitional housing for families that are homeless due to domestic violence, $860.

Gilgal, Inc.-The funds will be spent to support the general operations to cover the costs of housing women while they progress through the recovery and workforce development program offered at Gilgal, $860.

Greene County Christmas Stocking Fund- Funds will go toward food vouchers included in the stockings, $860.

Homestretch– Funds will be used toward the salary and benefits of one Family Coordinator who provides direct services to homeless families with children who are enrolled in the HomeStretch Supportive Housing Program, $860.

Interfaith Outreach Home: The funds will be used to aid in our efforts to provide safe, affordable, transitional housing to homeless , working families with children, $860

Living Room– funds will support the operational costs of providing housing to persons living with HIV/AIDS, $860.

MUST Ministries– Funds will provide resources to purchase supplemental food for the Loaves and Fishes Kitchen, $860

New Bethlehem Community Center- Funds will be used for the community food pantry and the community garden, $860.

St. Luke UMC– Funds will be used to purchase food for the needy in the community, $860

Union Chapel UMC– funds will be used to assist families and individuals in meeting their basic needs; eg food, clothing, temporary housing, and other emergency assistance, $860

Warren Temple UMC- funds will support the feeding ministry, $860.
